Mad for Mangos

This fellow was one of my favorite patients. He is an elderly individual seeking treatment for a variety of conditions, including diabetes (which is a growing problem in India). While he wants to take care of himself, he also admitted that he eats mangos every once a while. When the doctor reminded him that this was a no-no, he explained that he already knows the date he will die and he wants to enjoy the rest of his time. Which means eating mangos.

I see his point. Though I do not mean to trivialize his diabetes, the mangos here taste extraordinary. Not worth dying for, but pretty darn close.

Hi Jenna:

I really appreciate your earnestness to know more about rural India. You really are a positive Energy.

"Friendship for Sale", really touched me. If you don't think I am supporting the lady, I would say it is purely ignorance and not opportunistic. Moreover, these people earn their living by doing some sorts of work like these. May be that is the way they are earning their living!

Next time, if this happen to you, you can tell them so charmingly (you are good at that -- your writing says that) "Thank you" in the local language and refuse politely but sternly and appreciate them for their hospitality they will be completely flattered.

Thank you for your time:

Wish you A Pleasant and memorable stay in India.

Take care
